seejaybee Quality over quantity? Jan 25, 2011 6:49 AM I have a bit of a dilemma. I'm obsessed with Farfetch and Net a Porter and love checking out their new collections as they come in, but I have a slight (okay, it's pretty serious) cashflow problem. I want pretty much everything except the flats (I'm a heels girl) on Farfetch's designer footwear page (especially these - oh, Valentino! I bow down before thee!). Only problem is, actually buying the shoes I really want here would bankrupt me to the tune of...oh, I don't know, a gazillion dollars?! I could of course get any number of cheaper variations on this heel from lower-priced retailers - think Office, Next, etc. But would they have the same value in terms of comfort, wear and tear etc? Or would the cheaper varieties end up forming a pile at the back of my wardrobe, relegated to the 'shoes that could have been' corner of my mind? Most importantly, would these cheaper varieties be able to instill the kind of murderous shoe-lust I want from passers-by? Somehow, I think not. What do you think? Do you prefer quality over quantity? Or is price too important?
